Fire in Laurel County destroys cabinet carpentry building

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — A commercial construction building was destroyed in Laurel County after a major fire.

Firefighters said the flames were reported just after 5 p.m. on Tuesday at a building off Callahan Road in East Bernstadt. The first arriving units advised heavy fire and smoke, additional units were requested, and five other departments responded to help put out the flames.

One firefighter with the Crossroads Fire Department told FOX 56 that the building that was destroyed was used by Amish cabinet-makers.

Units were able to clear the scene, and no injuries were reported.
